This project detailed a proposed new GoPro product based on market research I conducted over the course of five weeks. The research consisted of exploring the current market, identifying the current target consumers, as well as establishing the ideal consumer, and conducting interviews and surveys to identify the needs and wants of these ideal consumers. The findings of the market research were used to alter the original new product model to produce a final product that matched the current market needs and wants.
Outcomes
The video presentation provides a detailed outline of how the market research was applied to the design of the new GoPro Hero Elite. The GoPro Hero Elite is an updated model and design with extended capabilities that takes the popularity of the GoPro action camera to the next level, while capitalizing on the original GoPro camera features that have established GoPro as a leader in the action camera industry. The market research is also applied to recommendations for launching the GoPro Hero Elite to the ideal consumer market based on how these consumers interact and engage with their favorite brands, as well as the contexts through which they currently utilize their action cameras or phones.
